KJFM SPORTS — The finish line for the 2023 Louisiana High School track season is near. This Friday and Saturday at Jefferson City High School the Class 2 state track meet will take place.
These athletes qualified to go to state this weekend by placing in the top four in their event at sectionals. Sectionals took place this past Saturday in New Haven. These are the athletes that are going to state and what they placed at sectionals. For the boys’ side, Jamal Blackwell placed third in the 110-meter hurdles. Alex Dzierwa took fourth in the 300-meter hurdles. The boys’ 4×100 meter relay placed fourth and the 4×800 meter relay took fourth also. Jamal Blackwell also took fourth in the high jump category. For the girls’ side of things, Jordan Pedersen took third in the high jump category. Kendra Sperry took third in the girls’ pole vault. Lastly, Alivia Perrine took third in girls’ javelin. Congratulations to all the athletes who have made it this far in the postseason and good luck at state.
