(KJFM News) — County Market and Save-A-Lot grocery stores, owned by Niemann Foods, Inc., have started the Hope Bags promotion to help restock local food pantries.
The prepackaged bags are available for purchase by shoppers in the grocery stores. The bags will be given to food pantries in the in the area. The stores do a similar promotion to help families in need at Thanksgiving.
Every Hope Bag has numerous items from the Essential Everyday brand including corn flakes (18 oz.), macaroni and cheese (7.25 oz.), peanut butter (16 oz.), chicken noodle soup (10.5 oz.) and tomato soup (10.75 oz.). Bags are just $4.99 for all of the items.
As the community continues to follow COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, the stores have offered special hours and encouraged older individuals and those with compromised immune systems to shop in the first hour of operation. There have also been special pick-up options at some locations.
County Market stores are located in Louisiana, Vandalia and Pittsfield. Save-A-Lot stores are located in Bowling Green and Pittsfield.
