LOUISIANA, Mo. — BNSF officials say 56-year-old Buddy Strieker, of Hannibal, died Wednesday while working at a customer facility in Louisiana. The railroad said Strieker was a conductor who worked BNSF for more than 24 years.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the death and could not provide further details.
BNSF issued the following statement:
“The BNSF Railway family is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague, Buddy Strieker, a conductor who was fatally injured on April 7 while working at a customer facility in Louisiana, Missouri. Strieker, 56, had been a valued member of the BNSF team for more than 24 years.
We extend our condolences to the Strieker family, and we will continue to keep them, his loved ones, and his co-workers in our thoughts and prayers. The National Transportation Safety Board will be handling the investigation, in cooperation with BNSF personnel.”
