BOWLING GREEN, Mo.– Bowling Green celebrated homecoming on Friday afternoon with a pep rally and parade. Bowling Green, unfortunately, did not have a football game due to Wright City being unable to play following COVID exposure. Administrators searched for an opponent on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning but were unsuccessful.
Students, faculty, and alumni made the best of the less than traditional afternoon, making memories for years to come. Students named Callie Bailey the 2021 Homecoming Queen, and Charlie Bowen the 2021 Homecoming King at the pep rally held in the high school gymnasium.
Mrs. Kim Luebrecht and Mr. Jared Runyon were voted Mr. and Mrs. BGHS by the student body. Luebrecht and Runyon were crowned by student council members at the pep rally as well.
Bobcat fans and alumni lined the streets for the annual homecoming parade. The parade began at 3:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon and followed the normal parade route.
Bowling Green has stated that they will hold a repeat coronation ceremony for the general public at halftime of the North Callaway football game on October 1.
