LOUISIANA, Mo. — Both teams were strong on the pitcher’s mound on Monday, but Louisiana was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Silex Owls on Monday. Collin Twellman started the game for Silex Owls and recorded nine outs.
Louisiana opened up scoring in the first inning. Ryan Capps’s sac fly scored one run for Louisiana.
Capps got the start for Louisiana and lasted four innings, allowing no hits and one run while striking out nine.
Twellman started the game for Silex Owls and surrendered one run on one hit over three innings, striking out two and walking one. Josh Price, Hunter Hubbard, and Daniel Havlik each contributed in relief for Owls.
Havlik went 1-for-4 at the plate to lead Silex in hits. Price led the Owls with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.
Louisiana didn’t commit a single error in the field.
