KJFM SPORTS – The Silex Owls ran off with the lead late in the game in a 7-3 victory over Clopton on Thursday.
The game was tied at two with the Owls batting in the top of the fifth when Ian Beckham singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Clopton tied things up at two when an error scored one run for the Hawks.
Josh Price led things off on the mound for the Owls. The righthander lasted three innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out two.
Peter Daskalakis started the game for Clopton. The pitcher went four and a third innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out one. Tyler Kuntz threw two and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.
Silex racked up eight hits in the game. Hunter Hubbard, Chase Mullen, and Beckham all managed multiple hits for the Owls. Hubbard led Silex Owls Varsity with three hits in four at bats.
Clopton tallied seven hits. Jordan Jennewein, Adam Lindsay, and Adam Matheny all collected multiple hits for Clopton.
