LOUISIANA, Mo. — Louisiana Community Betterment Farmers Market has announced their opening date. The Market will open on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Opening bell will ring at 3:00 p.m. This is the 7th year for the Market to be held in Sunset Park on Georgia St. “A few folks have asked why I hold to a strict opening bell at 3:00 p.m. This gives our vendors equal time to get set up, display their products and be ready for their first customer. If you do not have a set opening time, just as any other business, things become chaotic and then vendors are not prepared to service their customers in the proper manner. Every customer is special to us and we want them all to be treated equally, and I emphasize this with our vendors,” said Diana Huckstep, Market Manager.
“We are thrilled with the response and support of the Market from the community and appreciate their patronage. We have a wonderful, friendly Market and love being able to visit with our friends and neighbors and meeting new folks. We are looking forward to opening day and welcoming everyone back to the Market,” stated Huckstep.
The LCBA Farmers Market is a Producer Only Market. They are also members of the Missouri Grown organization and go by the guidelines set forth by the state and local health departments. They emphasize on providing their customers with the most organically grown produce possible. “Our vendors use as little to no hazardous chemicals to treat their produce and fruit. There are other markets that allow vendors to purchase product at vegetable auctions. They have no way of knowing what these products have been treated with. The LCBA Market does not allow this. We want to provide the healthiest vegetables and fruits possible, stated Huckstep.
