LOUISIANA, Mo. – The Louisiana Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead over Monroe City and took home a 10-1 victory on Wednesday. The Bulldogs scored on a groundout by Cameron Hunt and a groundout by Weston Deters in the first inning.
Louisiana scored five runs in the fifth inning. Ethen Harrison, Brady Sheppard, and Brady Fisher all drove in runs in the frame.
Jack Logan was the winning pitcher for Bulldogs. The righty went seven innings, allowing one run on six hits, striking out 12 and walking one.
Ryan Moss was on the hill for Monroe City. Moss lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and nine runs while striking out four. Carson Miller threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Sheppard, Sheldon Silvey, Logan, Kenny McCormick, and Harrison each collected one hit to lead Bulldogs. Louisiana didn’t commit a single error in the field. McCormick had 13 chances in the field, the most on the team.
