Walter Logan, Committee member was the photographer.
Their home at 121 N. 8th St. is a historic home and they both felt that the color pink would be very symbolic. Dottie stated “I wanted a color that felt warm and inviting. It is a feeling! This is what Louisiana is all about. The love and the warmth of the people are what I wanted to express here. A little feeling of New Orleans!”
John told the committee that there were several men who would drive by and make comments about the color, but in general, they were all very positive remarks, and John was surprised at how accepting the men were. John and Dottie are a treasure to have as a residents of the Louisiana community.
The Louisiana Community Betterment Association is always excited to present these awards. If you or someone you know, has made improvements to your property, and would like to make a nomination, please contact Diana Huckstep, chairperson of the LCBA at 314-640-4420.
