MONROE CITY, Mo. — The fifth-seeded Louisiana Lady Bulldogs ended their first tournament of the season with a 6th place finish after falling in the consolation game to (6) Paris.
Louisiana found themselves heating up and shooting the ball well, but dry spells and fouls stymied the Lady Bulldogs. Louisiana was edged by a single bucket to Paris, 43-41.
The Lady Bulldogs kicked off their tournament against (4) Highland on Tuesday, December 5.
In their opening round match, Louisiana battled but couldn’t quite come out on top as they lost a heartbreaker in a game that came down to the last seconds. The game ended 37-36 in favor of Highland, leaving their next game to be against Mark Twain.
The girls bounced back in the consolation semifinal against (8) Mark Twain having a lot more success scoring, taking home a comfortable 55-31 win against the Lady Tigers. The win secured them a spot in the consolation game just a day later on Friday, December 5.
The Lady Bulldogs will be looking to bounce back as they take on the Bowling Green Lady Bobcats in an EMO Conference match-up on Tuesday, December 12.
