Local BSA Troop 156 is holding an in-person Youth Protection Training on Sunday Apr., 18 at the Elks Lodge #791 in Louisiana. There will be refreshments available.
Merit Badge Counselors would be contacted by a Scout and then would teach the Scout or Scouts the merit badge. The number of Merit Badge Counselors in the area at this current time is quite limited.
There are 135 merit badges. Merit requirements are set by the BSA.
The first step to becoming a Merit Badge Counselor is Youth Protection Training. This training can also be accessed online at
my.scouting.org.
If you were a Scout in the past OR if you think Scouting is worthwhile this is an easy low commitment way to get involved.
