BOWLING GREEN, Mo.—The Bowling Green Bobcats fell to the Elsberry Indians in an EMO Conference showdown on the hardwood Tuesday night.
The JV game was first. Bowling Green put up a good fight, but it was not enough to get past the Indians. The Bobcats lost to the Indians, 52-40. Bowling Green now falls to 5-9 on the season, with just two games left to play in the JV season, the Bobcats face the North Point Grizzlies and the Clopton Hawks, for their final two games of the season. The win gives Elsberry their fourth win on the season, as they have only lost one game, making their record 4-1. The Indians next game will be against the Mark Twain Tigers.
The Varsity game was a battle between two EMO Conference titans. The Bobcats were down just three points at end of the first half. Bowling Green came out flat in the second half, which allowed the Indians to outscore the Bobcats 40-19 in the second half of the contest. Elsberry got the win over Bowling Green, 69-45, to gain yet another EMO Conference win. The loss puts the Bobcats record at an even 500 at 9-9. The win gives Elsberry their seventeenth victory on the season, as they extend their winning streak to three games, and they stopped the Bobcats winning streak of three games. Bowling Green welcomes in the Palmyra Panthers for Courtwarming night as their next game on February 9. Elsberry will travel to Mark Twain to square off with the Tigers on February 10.
